Budding Ideas and Volunteer meeting - Tuesday May 18th

May 18th, 2010, filled under Festival Info

Be part of something big and join us for the most fun you will have all summer. Volunteer for the Sequim Lavender Festival, July 16-18, 2010 A Budding Ideas and Recruitment Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the Sequim High School Cafeteria. This meeting will be to share ideas on how to improve the festival and be a wonderful opportunity for people to learn what the Sequim Lavender Festival is all about from the great volunteers that make the festival such a success. We will be choosing this years shirt color. Bring a new recruit (someone who has not volunteered before) and receive extra chances at door prizes.

The Festival would not be possible without the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who contribute to this amazing community celebration. Volunteers sell Farm Tour Tickets, distribute programs, help with hospitality, work on the production crew, assist at the Farms on Tour, and more. There are many benefits to volunteering, including a Free Farm Tour Ticket, a Festival T-shirt, and the thanks of the entire community! Applications and information can be obtained by calling the Festival office (360) 681-3035, or on-line at our website, www.lavenderfestival.com.

The Sequim Lavender Festival has been named one of North America’s Top 100 Events by the American Bus Association and is the largest lavender event in North America, making Sequim the Lavender Capital of North America. The three day event features Farms on Tour, each offering lavender-centered activities, demonstrations, music, food, u-pick, and more. Three day admission to the Farms on Tour is $15, with no charge for children 12 and under. The Street Fair in downtown Sequim offers more than 150 craftspeople and vendors of local lavender, musical entertainment, great foods and wine tasting. Also located next to the Street Fair, the Family Fun on the Field event brings local non-profits and families together for some old fashioned fun. There is no admission charge to the street fair. Free parking is available downtown and at each of the farms and a free shuttle bus service connects the entire festival. Many Community Events compliment the weekend schedule to entertain everyone, including a Saturday evening free concert in the park. For more information including transportation, accommodations, and directions please contact us by e-mail at info@lavenderfestival.com, website at www.lavenderfestival.com, or by telephone at (877) 681-3035 (toll free).

The Festival is proudly produced by the Sequim Lavender Growers Association (SLGA), a community of farmers, committed to knowledge of how to grow better lavender with less effort in an environmentally sustainable way.
