The Sequim Lavender Festival presents Music in the Park – A Tribute to the Beatles, on Saturday July 17, 2010, featuring one of the Northwest’s top bands, Creme Tangerine. This FREE family concert, at the James Center Outdoor Amphitheatre next to Carrie Blake Park is in the spirit of the Sequim Lavender Festival community and family, and runs from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Join emcee Todd Ortloff, from KONP Radio along with opening act BNR and Crème Tangerine for a great evening of everyone’s favorite music.
Creme Tangerine is a five-member band based out of Kirkland, Wash. On Jan. 30, 2009, the band made headlines with its re-enactment of the Beatle’s legendary London rooftop concert on its 40th anniversary at Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Fans packed the concert and were treated to a repertoire of the same songs the Beatles played at their rooftop concert. Over the years, Creme Tangerine has been a regular feature at festivals and events throughout the Pacific Northwest.
There is open seating on the lawn, so bring blankets, low folding chairs and favorite picnic goodies. Food will be available for purchase from Jeremiah’s BBQ, including BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, and wild salmon sandwiches plus soft drinks and coffee. You can also pick-up food from the Festival food booths. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.
Take the Shuttle to the Concert! On Saturday at 6:00pm, the free Festival shuttle buses will add service to the James Center Amphitheatre from the Street Fair at 2nd and Alder and from the JC Penney and QFC parking lots. After the concert the buses will return everyone to those locations. Festival-goers don’t need to move their cars to attend the concert. There is also free parking on the street and in the Blake Family lot.
The concert is presented by the Sequim Lavender Festival and sponsored by First Federal, the Sequim Gazette, and John L. Real Estate – Sequim, and KONP Radio.
